Wiki+ page: Armor

Armor is very vital to the survival of your character, yet mistakenly it is often chosen after spending a great deal of money on the best weapons. It is strongly advised that you make armor your top priority as a good set of armor can mean the difference between life and death. It is armor that protects your character against powerful attacks, and the better your armor is, the less of an attack you will feel.

When deciding on armor you want to look out for these key factors; PR , MR, Weight , Other Information , and Cost .

  • PR: Armor provides what is called PR, that is Physical Resistance. The better the armor and the more armor that you have equipped, the better your total PR will be. As your armor takes damage however, its PR will drop, thus being able to protect against less damage. Your armor's PR stacks on top of any other item that is equipped and has a PR, giving you a larger total PR. Only armor has a PR. If you are equipping any item that has a PR, you would record it in the appropriate PR field.

  • MR: Armor provides what is called MR, that is Magic Resistance. The better the armor and the more armor that you have equipped, the better your total MR will be. As your armor takes magic damage however, its MR will drop, thus being able to protect against less magic damage. Your armor's MR stacks on top of any other item that is equipped and has a MR, giving you a larger total MR. Only armor has a MR. If you are equipping any item that has a MR, you would record it in the appropriate MR field.

  • Weight: This shows how much the armor weighs. You need to be careful not to exceed your character's carry limit. All armor is made for your character's size, but for gaming simplicity, the weight of the armor will be the same.

  • Other Information: This shows any other important information that you need to take into account when buying armor. For example, some armor makes it harder to sneak, so if you are playing a rogue like character, you may want to avoid that armor.

  • Cost: This shows how much the armor costs. It is important to keep cost in mind because you are likely going to need to buy other things besides just armor. Spending all of your money on armor without buying any rations, potions, or a weapon is just as bad of an idea as not buying any armor at all.

2. Repairing Armor

The local blacksmith will be glad to repair your character's armor for a cost. The base cost is 1.00 Shilling for every 10 DP or 1 PR or 1 MR you wish repaired.

3. Equipping Armor

Equipping armor is very similar to equipping weapons, you just fill in the information needed. If the armor has any modifications, you need to add their effects to your character's armor, and try to put the modifications in the armor's name some how. The difference with armor and weapons is that you will need to get a total of your armor's PR, MR, and Weight. The total PR and MR should also be recorded on the front of your character sheet, in the Armor Stats section.

Wiki+ page: Shields

Shields are basically pieces of material made flat or slightly curved which you hold in front of you to block damage, or in other words, shield you from harm. There are several types and sizes of shields, from small enough to be worn on your arm, to large enough to cover almost your entire body. Shields are very different from other types of armor. They are the only armor placed in your Equipped Weapons slot. They are equipped on either the right or left hand. They have a DP Loss Rate, which is 20% of the damage they block. They even have an attack value. The only reason they are even considered armor instead of a weapon is because their primary purpose is to defend and block, not to cause damage.

Wiki+ page: Over Garments

Over Garments are any kind of armor or clothing that you would wear above your armor. This includes capes, cloaks, and robes. While over garments do not provide much protection by themselves, worn on top of your existing armor they provide added protection and disguise. Over garments are made of cloth and can be made in any normal solid color you prefer and with any designs you desire.

Wiki+ page: Animal Armor

Animal armor is armor for your animal. Just like with armor you would buy for yourself, animal armor is important in protecting your animal companion by providing your animal with better PR and MR values.

Not all animals can wear armor. Insects, birds, and other small animals cannot wear armor for example, and other animals have limited kinds of armor they can wear. Therefore it is important to read the armor's other information to make sure you are purchasing the right kind of armor for your animal companion.

Purchasing armor for your animal companion is just like purchasing armor for yourself. You go through the lists and pick the kind you want and pay the money for it.

You would list your animal’s armor just like you list your equipped equipment, on the equipment side of the character sheet. Helmets and caps are for the head. Coats and cloaks are over garments, except chain capes which are torso armor, just like mesh armor, plate armor, and scale armor.
