Wiki+ page: General Goods & Services

General Goods & Services is where you can purchase the everyday things you need for your adventure. Here you can stock up on rations, camping supplies, tools to aid in your adventuring, and supplies for your guns should you have any. You can even pick up some reading material and tools to help you catch and even grow your own food.

These items are often overlooked or put off as a last-minute thing. This could be very dangerous. Here you can find the one major item that your character’s life may depend upon… food. If you do not stock up on enough rations you will be forced to try to live off of the land, a task that may prove too difficult for you and one which may result in your character’s early demise.

Therefore it is very important that you save enough money for at least some rations, and that you take into consideration all of the items that you may purchase here.

Wiki+ page: Groceries

Here is where you can buy your meal items.  Here you will find your standard drinks, rations, and specialty food items.

Rations are a very important part of every adventurer’s survival kit. Rations ensures that when the adventurer is unable to find a good meal that adventurer will still have the needed nutrients to survive and stay healthy. Therefore it is very important to stock up on rations, because you never know when you are going to need to eat.

You will also find drinks here. You won’t find water, since water is a very common resource, one which may be found from a pump at every house or a well in every town. Water from most streams and rivers is also safe to bottle up and drink. Therefore there is no demand to sell bottled water. However here you will find other drinks, fancy ales and thick mead and the like. Drinks that you may not find elsewhere.

In order to purchase a drink from the general store you will need to provide your own container. They will gladly pump in enough drink from their tapped barrels into your storage container, but they won’t provide a container for you.

While drinks are sold by the use, rations are carefully measured out and sold by the day’s worth. That means that each ration you buy is enough for 1 day. If you wish to buy enough for multiple days you will need to purchase that much. It is as simple as taking the amount the rations or drink cost and multiplying it by the number of days you need. You also need to take note that the amount of space taken up by rations is 1 per day.

Wiki+ page: Camping Supplies

Camping Supplies are the supplies you need when camping out doors. With these supplies your nights spent sleeping under the stars will not feel so rough, allowing you to have a more relaxed rest with greater restoration effects. The supplies found here are your typical camping gear, such as sleeping bags, pillows, and tents. You will also find here tools to help you prepare meals outdoors, very helpful should you fish or hunt for your own food.

Since sleeping is a requirement of just about every race, having the extra comforts provided here will make your time of rest much more beneficial. Just sleeping alone without any comforts restores 10% of your HP, SA, and EP. However with a good sleeping bag, a tent, and a pillow, that restoration amount increase greatly. For example a pillow increases your sleep regeneration of HP, SA, and EP by 5, thus increasing your sleep regeneration of those stats to 15%. Plus having a good tent will shield you from the forces of nature, keeping you well in even the wettest and coldest weathers.

Wiki+ page: Books

Books are simply what you would think they are, pages filled with written words bound together with a front and back cover. Most of the time you would find books filled with stories of great adventures and whimsical romance, or maybe stories of deep mystery and hair-raising horror. However those are not the types of books that you will find in your general store. The books for sell at the general store are all works of nonfiction, and all dealing with general topics. You won’t find exciting stories in these books, and to many, these books would prove quite boring. However do not let their boring nature fool you, the books found here may prove to be a great asset on your adventure.

Within the general store you will find five different types of books; survival books, skill books, history books, law books, and religious books. Within the pages of these books you will come to know of the histories of the land you are in which may help you to find long-lost treasures, the laws of the region you are in which may help keep you out of trouble, things of the religious nature so that you can more tactfully deal with others and their beliefs, better ways at performing and using skills, and how to survive in the wilderness. While none of these books are a necessity for any adventure, they may all help provide information which may make your adventuring even more successful.

Please note that within these lists you won’t be presented with the actual contents of the books for sale. Instead you will get a brief description of the book and what the book will do for you. If your game master so desires, your game master may come up with short excerpts for the books.

Wiki+ page: Gun Supplies

Gun Supplies are tools and items which are useful to gun wielders. In this section of the general store you would find everything that is needed to keep your gun in top condition and the black powder needed to fire your muskets. If you wield a gun, you will need the items found in this section. While you may be able to get by without some of the items here, it is strongly recommended that you try to get at least one of every kind of item found here.

Gun Supplies covers many different types of items, but the one thing they have in common is that they are for guns and the care of guns. Some of these items are aimed at musket wielders, providing gun loading tools and black powder, both of which are items not needed by rifle and rune cannon wielders. However there are also items that take care of your gun, such as tools to clean out the barrel of your gun, to keep your mage crystal polished and scratch free, or to keep the trigger from sticking. These items could prolong your use of your gun and prevent any nasty and unfortunate surprises later on in your adventures.

Wiki+ page: Clothing

Clothing is simply that, clothes that you would wear. Clothing is not armor and therefore it does not provide any defensive protection. However some clothing does provide other bonuses such as protection for your eyes from debris or the glare of bright light and protect you from extreme cold weather. So while clothing will not provide any defensive protection, it is still a worthwhile part of any adventurer’s equipment.

It should be noted that unless the game master so desires, characters do not start off naked. All characters already have a very basic and colorless shirt, shorts, and undergarments. Therefore buying clothes is not needed for armor nor is it needed to be able to be a part of society. The clothes found here are simply extra articles of clothing which you may or may not wish to wear. Any clothing you wear can be worn with your armor.

1. Selling Clothes

Wiki+ page: Services

Here you can find the list of various services that are available in most towns and cities. These services could be anything from healing wounds to reviving the dead, teaching skills or even making rune stones.

The list of services you find here are very generic so that they should fit in most standard games and campaings. However, you will need to check with your game master to make sure that these services are available in your setting and in the town your character is visiting.

3. Rune Stones

Already created rune stones may be available in certain localities and in certain campaigns. The worth and price for these rune stones could be determined slowly by the GM, however, here is a simple way to deal with the values of rune stones.

  • Effect rune stones could be priced at the cost to buy the ylem stone increased by x 1.15. Selling the effect rune stone would be valued at ½ the cost of the ylem increased by x 1.15. This would be the same for minor elemental effect rune stones.

  • Spell rune stones could be bought at the cost of the ylem increased by a certain amount depending on the tier level of the spell. Tier 1 = x 1.25. Tier 2 = x 1.5. Tier 3 = x 1.75. Tier 4 = x 2. Tier 5 = x 2.5. Tier 6 = x 3. To sell a spell rune stone could be valued at ½ the cost of the ylem increased by the same amount depending upon the tier level of the spell.

  • You wouldn't be able to purchase or sell energy reserve stones because they can only be used by the creator.

Ylem is priced as follows:

  • Black Ylem: Can store 25 SA, cost 75.00 shillings
  • Gray Ylem: Can store 50 SA, cost 150.00 shillings
  • Silver Ylem: Can store 75 SA, cost 225.00 shillings
  • Teal Ylem: Can store 100 SA, cost 300.00 shillings
  • White Ylem: Can store 150 SA, cost 450.00 shillings
  • Clear Ylem: Can store 200 SA, cost 600.00 shillings
